Essential Oil Profile: Orange
Everyone knows Orange right? This big, beautiful fruit that you buy but then never eat… Or maybe it’s the refreshing juice you enjoy on warm summer morning. Orange is one of the most pervasive flavours and fragrances we enjoy. But what about the Essential Oil?
Orange Essential Oil is extracted from the rind of the sweet orange, Citrus sinensis. The is done through cold pressing, which uses pressure to squeeze the oils from the rind. You can see and smell orange oil for yourself by rubbing your hands over the rind or twisting it to release the oil. Sometimes, the leaves and flowers from the orange plant can be used as well.
Why use Orange Essential Oil in Skin Care?
Orange Essential Oil improves the health and appearance of your skin as well as smelling wonderful.
Orange contains a high amount of antioxidants which makes it act as a natural conditioner for skin or hair. Plus, it also helps in treating the damage caused by pollution.
