Neroli oil begins it’s life at the bitter orange tree (or Citrus aurantium if we’re going to get all technical) and is extracted by steam distillation from the small, white, waxy flowers that grow on it’s branches. This oil has long been associated with royalty and luxurious living. It actually takes around one thousand pounds or one whole tonne of handpicked flowers to produce just one kilogram of neroli oil!
