Facial oils are an excellent way to get antioxidants and vitamins quickly into the skin. Oils are absorbed quickly, and soften the appearance of fine lines. Essential oils are naturally packed with antioxidants, and create a protective barrier against harsh and uncaring external factors, like pollution, environmental toxins, even over cleansing. Still light weight, and incredibly aromatic, the oils penetrate surface layers of your skin and maintain moisture for a brighter more radiant appearance. Natural face oils actually nourish your skin with intense moisture and help keep your skin clear and balanced.
We recommend putting on face oil first thing in the morning or last thing at night after showering or cleansing and before applying or removing make up. This way, your hair follicles and pores are open and can easily absorb the oil. Caring for skin, particularly cleansing and moisturising, is crucial, especially if you live in a cold or dry climate.
Key Oils: Macadamia Oil, Olive Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Marula Oil, Almond Oil, and Vitamin E Oil
Vanilla: The vanilla plant is an herbaceous climbing vine. It bears trumpet-shaped flowers which are naturally pollinated by bees and humming birds and even hand pollinated in some areas. The pods turn brown and wrinkled from sun drying for a few weeks. Vanilla is a good source of B-vitamins like niacin, thiamin, Vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid which play an important role in the maintenance of healthy skin.
Raspberry: This oil is high in vitamin A and essential fatty acids, both key ingredients in skin care. Linoleic, alpha linolenic, and oleic acids all help protect, while replenishing moisture. The oil also contains vitamin E, which helps to condition your skin.
Liquorice: Liquorice root has a good reputation as being helpful for sensitive skin. It contains an active compound called “glabridin.” The oil can also help diminish the appearance of dark under-eye circles, discolouration and age spots. The root also has powerful antioxidants that help protect the skin from environmental stressors, as well as “licochalcone,” which helps balance oil, making this a good ingredient for those with oily skin.
Macadamia Oil: A light weight, medium nutty oil. It has a non greasy feel on the skin, which gives the oil a nice workable film. Its palmitoleic and oleic acid profile, makes it the perfect choice for dry skin. Phytosterols are protective, aiding in skin recovery, they work like cortisone on the skin helping to reduce itchiness and inflammation. The linoleic fatty acid content, makes it great for a skin that has difficulty retaining moisture.
Olive Oil: A powerful ingredient of ageing skin; rich in antioxidants, it prevents skin ageing, reduces the appearance of wrinkles and nourishes, rejuvenates and protects the skin. Also, olive oil helps skin cells to regenerate.
Rice Bran Oil: It has a high percentage of fatty acids—which makes it a perfect skin moisturiser. Full of antioxidants, vitamins B and E, and natural emollients, it hydrates and protects.
Marula Oil: Marula Oil is a naturally soothing treatment that provides intense hydration, protection, and rejuvenation to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for moisturised and healthy skin. It is suitable for all skin types and contains a high content of fatty acids, resulting in fast absorption to leave skin smooth.
Almond Oil: Used to gently dislodge debris from deep within skin pores and follicles, and also may help prevent future acne or dry patches because of its vitamin A content.
